DAVID HUGHES DANCE
DavidHughesDance Productions presents a quadruple
bill performance of dance with original commissions.
This is an intimate evening with the veteran Hughes,
a chance for him to share with us his physical heritage

casts Hughes as Jason after his estranged wife Medea
has murdered their children.
Cesc Gelebert choreographs ‘The Measurer’;
an alchemist, tailor and measurer of all things.
Siobhan Davies creates ‘L’Apres-Midi
d’un Faune’. This is her modern take
on the famous Nijinsky Ballet, an exploration of
stillness.
Christopher Bruce’s ‘Hurricane (A Pantomime)’
masterfully employs Commedia dell’Arte in
the examination of the story of American boxer Reuben
“Hurricane” Carter.

DOGSTAR THEATRE – JACOBITE
COUNTRY - a new comedy with live
music by Henry Adam
“…a dramatist full of skill and courage,
and that deep sense of dramatic structure that some
writers struggle a whole lifetime to learn.”The
Scotsman on Henry Adam
Jacobite Country is an alternative Highlands –
still the same beautiful scenery, but the locals
tend to live in council houses, drive their clapped
out cars very fast and drink in bars with Confederate
flags on the wall. In that respect it’s quite
like the real Highlands. An ensemble piece for actor-musicians
performed in a direct, irreverent style, Jacobite
Country will challenge perceptions of mental illness
and poverty while making people laugh.
