The facilities provided within Arainn Shuaineirt/The Sunart Centre are exceptional by any standard, and included in this light, airy and welcoming building is a suite of rooms dedicated to the provision of adult learning opportunities, further and higher education, for the whole community.

An increasing number of courses are offered at Arainn Shuaineirt / The Sunart Centre, which are accessible to all on a lifelong and inclusive basis. Some adults come simply for personal interest or for self-development, while others wish to gain a qualification or acquire a new skill that may enhance their employment interests or boost their confidence. At Arainn Shuaineirt/The Sunart Centre, we aim to make it possible for you to learn something new.

At the moment a programme of evening classes is delivered via a partnership of Lochaber College UHI, Lochaber Business Development Services & The Highland Council, and includes:

Gaelic

Spanish

Italian

We also hope to deliver First Aid and Food Hygiene one-day workshops for hoteliers and local businesses in the near future. Other provision runs on a private basis at Arainn Shuaineirt / The Sunart Centre e.g. Reiki Surgery on Mondays; NHS Parent workshops Thursday afternoons; Accordion classes on Thursday evenings; Yoga on Friday evenings.

The Highland Council’s Community Learning & Development Officer for the area, Neil Riddell, is based in the building and can connect you with a wide range of training and education providers and other agencies including Lochaber College UHI, Lochaber Business Development Services, Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Careers Scotland, voluntary & community groups etc. Information is also on display in the Ardnamurchan Library housed within Arainn Shuaineirt / The Sunart Centre.
