Invitation to “Inspiring Ideas”

Voluntary Action Lochaber and The Lochaber Partnership, the Community Planning Partnership for Lochaber, is to hold a Social Enterprise & Community Event in the Sunart Centre (Arainn Shuaineirt), Strontian on Friday the 25th March 2011, from 10 am until 4.30pm.

The purpose of the event is to:

· Highlight the opportunities for Social Enterprises in Lochaber to thrive and become sustainable
· Promote existing Social Enterprises and identify ways in which they have become successful
· Showcase the range of partners involved in Community Planning and to highlight the actions being delivered.

The event is open to any individual, group or organisation interested in social and community activity.

The day will include input from successful Social Enterprises in the Highlands and Islands and delegates will have an opportunity to visit the Sunart Oak Wood and to attend either of the two workshops ‘Generating Income for your Social Enterprise’ or ‘Funding your Social Enterprise’

We are delighted that Alasdair Nicholson MBE has accepted our invitation to return to this event to speak about The Chocolate Factory 2 years on and Chris Higgins, Head of Culture & Third Sector at HIE who will give a talk on Taking Forward Your Social Enterprise.
