Catherine Wheels Theatre Company present LOST AT SEA as part of the Theatre in Schools Scotland programme.

‘Lost at Sea’ was commissioned by the Edinburgh International Science Festival and is suitable for P5-7.

The journey begins with bath toys. It’s January 1992 and 28,000 plastic ducks built for the warm, soapy comfort of a toddler’s bath, accidentally find themselves flung into the unrelenting currents of the Pacific Ocean.

The cycles of the sea take these colourful characters far and wide; washing up on shores across the globe and capturing the imagination of those who end up discovering them on their local beaches.

Lost at Sea follows the journey of Kirsty and Douglas, she a scientist, he a traveller exploring the world. Coming from opposite sides of the globe, they are very different people, yet share a fascination with the toy ducks they found as children. Performed on a giant world map that will transform your school hall, we hear their stories of discovery as their travels lead them to uncover the mysteries of the sea and in doing so learn the importance of the ocean to every one of us on earth.

A moving and inspiring tale of growing up and overcoming loss that introduces scientific themes and the importance of protecting the environment.

This is a special performance for Primary School children P5-P7 and is not open to the public.

73 pupils from Kilchoan, Acharacle, Ardgour and Strontian will be attending
