Accordion in hand, Gary Innes truly has the world at his fingertips – though at heart he’s never far from his native Scottish Highlands. Over recent years he’s gigged in China, Malaysia, the USA, the Middle East and Kazakhstan, among other exotic destinations, but between times he’s just as busy playing rural village halls and remote island festivals back home, from Acharacle to Achiltibuie, Shetland to Skye.
Lochaber born accordionist Gary Innes is one of the founding members of award-winning Scottish super-group Mànran. Born and raised in Spean Bridge, Gary was voted “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the 2017 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards, and in addition to his continuing musical career is presenter of BBC’s “Take The Floor.”
Gary is also an ex-Scottish Shinty captain and Internationalist and has won the Camanachd Cup final with his beloved team Fort William on no less than 5 occasions, and is now more often seen in the commentator’s box covering the main fixtures on the shinty calendar for the BBC.
Gary is joined for this concert by Ewen Henderson (fiddle) and Mike Bryan (guitar).
A great night in store with some fantastic music – don’t miss it.
Start time 7:30pm, tickets £10 (OAPs £8, under 18s £5)
