De the Dol? December

Sunart Centre News - December 2021 update

Gradually things are opening up again in the Centre and a list of current activities is given below. Unfortunately Council policy still does not permit events where school pupils and members of the public mix so public events are open to adults only. Regular weekly events are listed below, but Ardnamurchan High School staff also provide a number of after school activities for pupils that are not listed here. For more details of events and updates please see our website or Facebook page.

Our Gym (Fitness Suite) has also opened and is becoming busy with many new members making good use of our facilities. New members require an induction so please get in touch with us if you are interested – contact details below.

It is anticipated that High Life Highland will be advertising an additional 17.5 hour per week Centre Supervisor post either before Christmas or early in the New Year so if you think you may be interested (or know someone who might) please keep a lookout for job adverts or ask us to let you know when applications are open.

The Sunart Centre will be closed for the Christmas and New Year break from Wednesday 22nd December through to reopening on Wednesday 5th January.

In the new year there will be some changes to the management structure and personnel of the Sunart Centre as current manager Eoghan Carmichael will be retiring at the end of March. High Life Highland (HLH) and the Arainn Shuaineirt Management Committee (ASMC) will be working together with the AHS Head Teacher Chris Millar-Craig to ensure a smooth transition, but there will inevitably be some changes to the way the Centre operates. There will be more information in the next (February) edition of De tha Dol?

For information on the Sunart Centre or any of our events please visit our website sunartcentre.org, visit us on Facebook (Sunart Centre) or contact Sarah Macdonald on 01397 709228 (sarah.macdonald@highlifehighland.com) or Eoghan Carmichael (Centre Manager) on 01687 470267 or by email eoghan.carmichael@highlifehighland.com
