Alexander McCall - We are delighted to welcome back as special guest writer, our Patron, Alexander McCall Smith. He was last with us four years ago, and we look forward to hearing, in particular, about the books he has written since last time.

Alan Bissett – writer and comedy performer introduces our Friday evening film, the Spielberg classic “JAWS”, and presents two workshops.

JAWS - Don't go in the water! - Prize-winning playwright, novelist and a superb performer/entertainer Alan Bissett will introduce, discuss and share with us one of his favourite films - 'Jaws'. If you caught his performance of the The Red Hourglass at the Sunart Centre you'll agree he is guaranteed to entertain and challenge you.

Jackie Kay - Jackie Kay is a Scottish author and poet who has strong links to the local area having been the first Scottish Book Trust and Ardtornish Estate writer in residence from November 2012. During the Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival 2014 she will read from her most recent books Reality, Reality and Fiere.

John Fardell - is a well-respected and widely-published cartoonist whose talents include writing and illustrating books for children. His novels are packed with eccentric characters, adventure and invention and feature ordinary boys and girls in extraordinary situations.

Jonathan Meres - Norm’s creator, author Jonathan Meres will be here to talk all about his award winning creation. Hear him say stuff. Ask him anything you want. He might even sing.

The Big Read - The No 2 Acharacle Book Reading Agency led by Fiona Ogg and the Ardnamurchan Book Group (ABC) led by Janice Rodger will be discussing Iain Banks's 'The Quarry' and one of his science fiction works written as Iain M Banks 'The Hydrogen Sonata.'

To finish off the festival this year, the Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival Committee is excited to present An Evening with Ed Byrne. On Saturday 27th September, this well-known comedian will entertain us with his own relaxed style of stand-up.

Tickets are available now! Day tickets for the Saturday are £10 per adult and £5 per child. Tickets for Ed Byrne on Saturday evening are £15 (£12 if you buy an adult day ticket too). Find them at Ardnamurchan Library, Strontian Stores, Lochaline Stores, Acharacle Shop and Granite House, Fort William.Tickets available from Granite House, Fort William; Strontian Stores; Acharacle Shop; Lochaline Stores and Ardnamurchan Library (no under 16s) from the end of August.
