Fruit Growing & Pruning

New date announced - Thursday 23rd April (postponed from Tuesday 10th March)

 

Come along to this evening talk to gain the skills and confidence to grow fruit here in Lochaber. The techniques and principles of fruit growing will be introduced along with consideration of weather, climate, drainage, when and how to establish new plants and pests and diseases.

There will be an opportunity to identify the fruit varieties that do well in Lochaber, the benefits of pruning and improving soils to increase fruit production in your own garden, farm or croft.

Peter Holmes was brought up in agriculture and has been working as a contractor and instructor in conservation and horticultural work for nearly 25 years.
