The Story of Beowulf - written and performed by Erik Beaton

Denmark, 1,500 years ago. The creature Grendel has been raiding the hall of the Danes for 12 years, slaughtering and devouring king Hrothgar’s warriors. Across the sea, Beowulf hears of this curse and sets off to kill the monster, with his bare hands!

In this modern telling of the ancient legend, Erik brings to life the strange Norse world of murderous monsters, rampaging dragons, ferocious yellow-haired warriors, kings, queens and mead-halls. Contains violence and horror, plus some strong language.

Erik is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art. He spent many years as an Art Director, creating television commercials. He has performed in many plays, musicals and pantomimes, as well as working on stage design.
