Àrainn Shuaineirt -  Annual General Meeting

The Fifteenth Annual General Meeting of Àrainn Shuaineirt will be held in the Sunart Centre on Monday 18^th September 2017 at 7:00pm.

All residents of the Ardnamurchan High School catchment area are deemed to be members of Àrainn Shuaineirt and everyone is invited to attend the AGM.

The main purpose of the meeting will be to review the past year’s activities and finances, and to elect new members to the Àrainn Shuaineirt Management Committee, which continues to serve an important role in the life of our community.

At this AGM we will be looking for at least one new member each from the West Ardnamurchan and Morvern Community Council areas, but all new interest is welcome and we would be delighted to find room on the committee for anyone who is interested.  Details of our activities and constitution, plus an agenda for the meeting, can be found on our website www.sunartcentre.org or are available by post from the Sunart Centre office.

In addition to governing the Sunart Centre, the committee sources and manages our transport funding and is responsible for a range of activities. The Committee is increasingly being viewed by The High Life Highland as an important conduit for community input to its services throughout the area.

Under the constitution (which can be found on our website) the committee is made up of two voting members from each of the five Community Council areas that fall within the Ardnamurchan High School catchment area, but these do not have to be serving members of the Community Council. This provision is to ensure that the committee is representative of all the communities which the Sunart Centre serves.

In addition there are voting members from the AHS Pupil Council, AHS Parent Council and the Youth Forum, plus any elected Highland Councillors for the area who are members of Àrainn Shuaineirt.

Everyone is welcome to attend our AGM and we hope you will come along even if you do not wish to be part of the committee, to have your say in how the Sunart Centre is run and to comment on how activities in the centre can be improved.

 

Governing The Sunart Centre for the communities of Sunart, Ardgour, Morvern, Moidart and Ardnamurchan
